We are delighted to announce that MTS’s AI-powered IELTS Mock Test platform has been selected as a 2025 e-Assessment Association Award finalist in the new category of “AI in Assessment Innovation” which recognises groundbreaking initiatives that harness the transformative power of artificial intelligence in assessment.

MTS’s AI-powered IELTS Mock Test platform contains a bank of high-quality practice IELTS tests which cover all four of the IELTS skills (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking), and uses human-trained AI algorithms to generate indicative band scores for the productive skills (Writing and Speaking). And here’s the exciting part: Our platform is the only IELTS practice test platform on the market that uses human-like digital avatars, available in a range of genders and accents, to deliver the IELTS Speaking test, mimicking the real-life IELTS test as best we can within the platform.

Our practice tests are of the highest quality, written and designed by MTS’s own IELTS experts, as well a suite of tests written and designed by notable IELTS experts Sam McCarter, Norman Whitby and Judith Ash, authors of the popular book ‘IELTS Reading Companion’. All of our Listening tests have been professionally recorded in sound studios, employing voice actors with a variety of accents (American, British English, Australasian) just like the real IELTS Listening test.

MTS’s IELTS Mock Test platform provides almost instant feedback on users’ performance, thanks to the trained AI algorithms. The indicative band scores have been trained to ensure a good degree of accuracy in terms of output (accurate to around 0.5 of a band score), however users of the platform can buy extra credits to have one of MTS’s expert human IELTS assessors verify the indicative band score.

The AI technology built into the platform also provides test takers with improved versions of their Writing essays and Speaking test spoken passages which are transcribed by the system’s recordings of the user’s responses to the mock test questions posed.

User feedback from our customers is a testament to the platform’s appeal. Here are just three quotes from our happy customers:

-“It's easy to navigate and use and gives great feedback”

-"It's a good platform to practice and it helped me overcome the challenges I had preparing for the test"

-"I love the feedback you get after the IELTS mock test - it's so helpful”

And the platform has been rated 4.0 out of 5 stars by the users we have surveyed.

The new platform is just one element of MTS’s fantastic package of IELTS preparation offers, including IELTS ‘Masterclass’ preparation courses, Writing Clinics, Speaking Clinics, and 1-2-1 tuition from our IELTS experts, as well as a short self-led ‘IELTS in One Go’ course. Check out our offers on our IELTS preparation page.

Being acknowledged by the e-Assessment Association as a finalist for this prestigious (and new for 2025) award affirms our commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology in service of quality, access and learner confidence. This recognition helps strengthen our mission to help our students to get the outcomes they need with our high-quality IELTS exam preparation offers, and reinforces our position as a forward-thinking leader in the global assessment landscape.

We will find out if our AI-powered IELTS Mock Test platform has won the e-Assessment Association award ceremony on 10 June 2025, on the first full day of the e-Assessment Association Conference, taking place at the Leonardo Royal London St Paul's Hotel in London.
