About the test
LanguageCert SELT tests are accepted by United Kingdom Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as proof of English if you want to live, work, or study in the UK.
The following tests are used by the UKVI:
- LanguageCert International ESOL SELT A1

The UKVI will only accept tests taken in person at an official LanguageCert SELT test centre, as UKVI requires an additional layer of security when taking language tests.

Is the exam recorded on CCTV?
The LanguageCert exam is what is known as a 'SELT' (Secure English Language Test) test.
The test is a UK Home Office-approved test for UKVI (UK Visas & Immigration) purposes and therefore must be conducted under strict conditions.
CCTV recordings are taken for compliance, auditing and anti-fraud purposes.
How and when will I receive my results?
Preliminary results are released a few minutes after the exam for the two-skills (Speaking & Listening) exam.
Test Reports are sent via email and are also uploaded to your LanguageCert account.
These are issued within 3 working days for two-skills (Speaking & Listening) exams and within 5 working days for four-skills (Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking) exams.
