MTS’s IELTS test is accepted by the Canadian government’s Express Entry route for emigration

MTS's IELTS (General Training) test is accepted as proof of English language ability for the Canadian government's Express Entry immigration route.

Canada is welcoming large numbers of skilled emigrants into their country in order to help fill the gaps in its workforce and economy left by an ageing population.

In November 2022, the Canadian federal government announced an ambitious plan to take in 500,000 immigrants per year by 2025, meaning that 1.5 million new immigrants are planned to emigrate to Canada over the next three years.

To facilitate this scale of migration into Canada, the federal government has set up an Express Entry route to help people who want to build a new life in Canada, a country celebrated for its high quality of life and citizen freedoms. The Express Entry route is an online system that manages immigration applications from skilled workers, and many people will be eligible.

One of the requirements for entry to Canada, even if you are a native English speaker, is to pass an English language test. The good news is that one of the recognised tests for the Canadian Express Entry is IELTS (General Training). The IELTS band scores required depends on which route you are taking into the scheme, and more information is on the Canadian government website.

MTS offers IELTS (General Training) at all of its 21 IELTS venues across the UK and Ireland. MTS offers both IELTS on Paper and IELTS on Computer tests. We also have IELTS prep courses to help you get the score you need!

If you’re building your new life in Canada, come to MTS to prepare for and take your IELTS test...we wish you the best of luck!
